This class focuses on one of the most important responsibilities of firearm ownership: preventing negligent handling and unauthorized access. Students will review fundamental firearm-safety principles and explore practical storage considerations for different households and lifestyles. Topics include:   Fundamental firearm-safety rules   Safe handling habits   Preventing unauthorized access   Children and firearms   Guests and visitors in the home   Storage options   Lockboxes and quick-access storage   Vehicle-storage considerations   Balancing accessibility and security   Creating a household firearm-safety plan \nStudents will work through common household scenarios and consider how storage requirements may change when children\, teenagers\, grandchildren\, guests or other individuals are present.
